London and south-east England face the onslaught of a more aggressive variant of COVID-19 that is easier to spread from person to person.
Decade 10 people infected in London at least six of these are caused by this variant, according to recent reports.
"So far UK scientists see no evidence that this variant infections cause more serious disease", according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
According to the report, health officials study the new variant to learn more about it.
For the moment, there is no evidence that the new strain affects the effectiveness of medicines used to treat COVID-19 patients.
Meanwhile, Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infections, ruled out the likelihood that the virus mutation reduces the effectiveness of recently approved vaccines.
