Regional meeting to potentiate aquaculture chains

Different countries participate, among them: Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Dominican Republic and El Salvador.

The Savior – This Tuesday the regional meeting called "Promotion of regional coordination in aquaculture value chains for the generation of productive employment in Latin America and the Caribbean" was held., coordinated by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (ONUDI).

In this regional strategy, that seeks to promote regional aquaculture value chains, different countries participate, among them: Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Dominican Republic and El Salvador.

With the incentive to this sector, the aim is to create productive jobs so that "our producers, processors and marketers have more income and to generate, which is of course the ultimate goal of the government, that well-being for Latin American families”, explained the Minister of Economy María Luisa Hayem.

In this first meeting, the roadmap of the aquaculture chain of each of the participating countries was presented, through which synergies and opportunities for joint work will be identified, in order to adapt to new market demands.
