The Savior – The historic Cerro Verde Mountain Hotel has re-emerged for tourists after 24 years of being closed due to damage and neglect of its infrastructure, an icon of Salvadoran tourism inaugurated in 1958.

The story goes that the day its construction was completed, the Izalco volcano was extinguished after several years of being in eruption and was the tourist attraction known as the Lighthouse of the Pacific.
