A replica of the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe came out from the Basilica in Mexico City, and crossed the border into the United States, arriving yesterday at the Catholic community of Holy Spirit Parish in Houston, Texas.

further, another painting similar to that of the virgin arrived, it was the one from San Juan Diego, and the torch lit from the paschal candle in the Basilica of Guadalupe, and that represents hope and love for an entire Hispanic people.

Under strict health and safety measures, the mass was held, scheduled this time in an open field, where the catholic congregation remained inside the cars. In this way, social distancing would be respected to avoid contagion by COVID-19.

More than a hundred vehicles were parked by the event organizers, who had built a platform on one side of the soccer field that lies in front of the Church. “Thanks to your presence we are united in our love for Mary, the virgin Mary, our mother", said the priest Willian Bueche, in charge of officiating the mass.

The Guadalupana image is scheduled to arrive on 12 December to New York.
