Panama declares vaccination against covid-19 mandatory for government officials

Panama – The Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre announced that President Laurentino Cortizo signed the decree that makes vaccination against covid-19 mandatory for public officials.

“If there is something that cannot be stopped, it is the government institutions that have to continue to function.. Whoever does not get vaccinated will have to present a negative test every Monday ", the minister warned.

On the other hand, Sucre pointed out that in Panama the complete vaccination scheme will consist of three doses. "From 28 January when they talk about the complete scheme, let us know that we are talking about three doses”, so he detailed it.

Panama makes this decision amid a rebound in cases, only today the epidemiological report recorded 4,372 new cases. In the last hours they applied 21,991 tests for a positivity of the 20%.

The current scenario has also forced the authorities to increase the number of swab stalls throughout the country..
