HIV patients without medicine in El Salvador

Patients suffering from HIV are going through a difficult time. The Bureau of HIV and Human Rights Civil Society denounced the lack of medicines from the 24 October at the Salvadoran Social Security Institute (Ishshs), entity responsible for providing cardholders.

The complainants claim that the drug dolutegravir, important for HIV patients, has stopped supplying pharmacies in the ISSS and about one thousand 500 right holders who have the disease are affected.

Margarita Posada of the National Health Forum said that "the state is obliged to give the medication because due to the health condition of the affected, be without medicine one month would be dangerous.”
