Bishops of El Salvador concerned about the safety of religious in Nicaragua

The Savior – The bishops of the Catholic Church of El Salvador expressed their concern and solidarity with the bishops, priests, Religious and lay people of Nicaragua in the face of insecurity and threats from the government of President Daniel Ortega, in this Central American country.

Atreves of a press release and read by the Archbishop of San Salvador, Archbishop José Luis Escobar Alas, the episcopal conference, expresses concern, especially for the safety of the pastors Monsignor Rolando José Álvarez, Bishop of the Diocese of Matagalpa and Apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Estelí and Pbro. Harving Padilla, from the church of San Juan Bautista, in the city of Masaya, Nicaragua.

The eleven Bishops of the Salvadoran Catholic Church who signed the document, regret the social and political situation that the Republic of Nicaragua is going through, also, said the statement, share the pain of the noble people, hard-working and long-suffering that vehemently aspires to live in a climate of full respect for their fundamental rights to achieve a dignified life.
