Coronavirus first Salvadoran dies in Italy

Italy confirms first death of a Salvadoran coronavirus. The death occurred in the city of Bergamo and was confirmed Monday by authorities.

El Salvador was identified as Jose Alfaro Martínez Orellana, of 32 years, originating in Zacatecoluca, in the department of La Paz.

According to information from the Higher Institute of Health in Italy, El Salvador was under chemotherapy treatment, for his cancer. The Covid-19 complicated their health situation.

The information is handled between the Salvadoran community in Italy, also indicates that three others, possibly Salvadorans are under observation for possible infection of coronavirus.

Italy is the country most affected due to the outbreak of coronavirus. Weekend, the number of people dying from this disease reached record numbers. The authorities confirmed the death of 793 people.

further, It is the largest number of Salvadorans in its territory. The number of Salvadorans living in Italy reaches 170 thousand.
