The Savior – The substitute magistrates of the Third Criminal Chamber of San Salvador, Carlos Alberto Iraheta Zelaya and José Manuel Chávez López, they reversed the house arrest, that the previous magistrates ordered for the former mayor of San Salvador.

Ernesto Muyshondt, and for the municipal ex-treasurer, Fernando Heriberto Portillo. They are prosecuted for the crimes of misappropriation of tax withholdings or perceptions and breach of duties.

The new magistrates validated the arguments that the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) filed in an appeal to house arrest, according to the arguments published by the Third Criminal Chamber.

The magistrates also validate the prosecutorial argument that Muyshondt and Portillo are prosecuted for other crimes, in other courts, despite the fact that in the judicial headquarters they have been ordered to house arrest.

The Chamber also ordered the Eighth Investigating Court to release the trades to return the finances of $50 thousand dollars and $10 a thousand of those that the defendants had already canceled.
