“Argentine embrace and Latin America” is an organization and solidarity network that was born as a collective response to provide psychological assistance to migrants in Milan, Italy, who have been victims of the coronavirus and affected by the different situations caused during the pandemic.

The organization has covered different basic needs, among them food, housing and special attention in the psychological area as a whole, in addition to providing collaboration with social workers and immigration counseling groups.

The solidarity network includes the collaboration of professionals in different countries, as in the case of César Mejía, community social psychologist, member of the Latin American Union of Psychology Entities (ULAPSI), who participated in a virtual workshop where he addressed the subject: “Pandemic, mental health and the effects of social media consumption”.

The meeting revealed the impact of the use of social networks, revealing that the American continent is positioned in the first place as a user, notably influencing public realities, political and social without any control.

With these online spaces, the organization seeks to provide help with different specialists, whose focus is to continue joining efforts to share experiences in order to identify lines and areas of reflection and action to face the impact of this problem that has affected the mental health of society.
