Most of the Omicron variant infections in the United States experienced mild symptoms

U.S – Between the 43 patients who were analyzed there were no deaths and only one man who was inoculated was hospitalized in a health center for two days.

The increase in infections led New York to impose the mandatory use of the mask in closed spaces.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC, in English) most cases of the new strain have been mild. 34 of all infections were in fully vaccinated people, including some who received the booster shot.

"As with all variants, there is a lag between infection and the most severe results, and the symptoms would be expected to be milder in vaccinated people ", the researchers explained in their latest morbidity and mortality report.

After several months, The authorities insist that vaccines are the only way to avoid a new disaster in the wake of the coronavirus and the country is plunging into a Christmas crisis.

Meanwhile, the governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, ordered all companies to again require the use of masks in closed spaces if they did not oppose the mandatory nature of the vaccine.

The official said that the decision to reestablish the mandatory nature of the protection mechanism is based on a growing number of hospitalizations, especially upstate.
