The self-proclaimed president of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó expressed his support for the pro-democracy movement in Cuba and highlighted the fight for freedom and democracy.
The Venezuelan opponent was in favor of the demonstrations against the Cuban Government, that were carried out in different parts of the island, including Havana:
"We reiterate our support for the entire movement, we are united by the struggle to see ourselves free and democratic ", Guaidó wrote on his social networks. He added that the desire for change and the demand for compliance with fundamental rights are unsustainable forces..
The protests in Cuba took place in different locations, including Güira de Melena, San Antonio de Los Baños and Alquízar in the western province of Artemisa, among others.
Given the situation, Miguel Diaz-Canel, asked his supporters to take to the streets ready for combat, in a response to the peaceful demonstrations that erupted against the administration.
