The Savior – In the first anti-drug action of the year 2022 coordinated with the Naval Force, National Army, National Civil Police and the Attorney General's Office, presented the seized drug from some 500 kilos of cocaine in the intervention called "Operation Bishop".

It's about the seizure of half a ton (500 kilos) cocaine hydrochloride, which have a value of approximately $12 million and a half, as calculated by public security authorities.

The drug was located in a boat located in front of the El Bajón mouth of Punta San Juan, Usulután department.

Investigations reveal that the drug was hidden in two large packages in a fishing boat manned by Arturo Cruz Velásquez, of 46 years, and Rafael Cruz Gómez, 23 years, who are father and son.

Those involved will be placed at the order of the judicial authorities in the next 72 hours, who will be accused of the crime of Illicit Drug Trafficking.

"These types of actions are the contribution we make as the Republic of El Salvador to the fight against international drug trafficking", stated at the place of confiscation by the Attorney General of the Republic, Rodolfo Delgado placeholder image.

"Part of the commitment of this Security Cabinet is to fight this scourge head-on. The structure behind this is regional, where Salvadorans participate, Guatemalans and others ", said Minister of Justice and Security Gustavo Villatoro.
