II Migrant Caravan of Muralists, arrives with his art to Ocotepeque, Honduras

The Muralists, interact with artists and members of the communities of the municipalities, to generate art with awareness in the recovery and promotion of cultural roots and care for the natural environment

Honduras - On Monday 28 of November 2022, the plastic artists that make up the "Second Migrant Caravan of Muralists for a Culture of Peace and for the Rescue of the Lempa River" began to embellish with prints of the culture and natural wealth of the Trifinio region, the city of Ocotepeque, Honduras.

The caravan of muralists is organized by the Río Lempa Trinational Border Commonwealth, MTFRL, and the local governments of Candelaria de la Frontera of El Salvador, La Labor and Ocotepeque, both from Honduras. With the aim of promoting cultural wealth and natural resources, through artistic murals created in the public spaces of said municipalities.

So much, the organizers as the artists, seek to promote art as a tool for cultural awareness and awareness of the care of natural resources, like the rescue of the Lempa river, campaign that is promoted by the Trinational Commonwealth together with the 28 municipalities of the Trifinio region that make it up.

The artists have already created their works in Candelaria de la Frontera in the department of Santa Ana, The Savior, during the week of 14 al 19 of November, and in the municipality of La Labor in the department of Ocotepeque, Honduras, of the 20 al 26 of November.

Today Monday 28 began in the city of Ocotepeque and will conclude on Saturday 03 December at the "Trinational Art Festival, for a Culture of Peace and for the Rescue of the Lempa River" where they will present the works produced in the three municipalities of the Trifinio region.

The artists from the four countries are: Karla Elizabeth González (Karla Gonzo), Griselda Azucena Miranda Reynado (Reynado Gray), Antonio Rafael Bolaños and Joe Cruz Pérez from El Salvador; from Guatemala: Selvin Ariel Perez Hernandez, Bryan Rahí Felipe Pacheco and Elvis Pérez Hernández; for Mexico attend: Kevin Edwin Reyes Arellano and Juan Carlos Hernandez Eleno and from Honduras participate: Oscar Soto Ventura, Alejandro David Espinoza Salinas and Javier Espinal, who coordinates the team.

The Muralists, interact with artists and members of the communities of the municipalities, to generate art with awareness in the recovery and promotion of cultural roots and care for the natural environment. further, strengthen the capacities of local artists, for the sustainability of the proposed topics.

The Caravan is organized by the Trinational Commonwealth, within the framework of the "Rescue of the Lempa River" project, via the Heinrich Böll Foundation, Catala Fund and NGOs, Sowing Local Opportunities, SOL; and the culture and sports offices of the three municipalities, who are providing accommodation, feeding, paint and other resources that artists need to beautify the urban centers of said cities.

Works of the artists made in Candelaria de la Frontera in the department of Santa Ana, The Savior; and in the municipality of La Labor in the department of Ocotepeque, Honduras.
