Honduras on alert before the entry of a tropical cyclone with the potential to become a hurricane

The cyclone would be entering Honduras on Monday at noon through the south of the department of Olancho and the north of Choluteca

Honduras is on alert for the effects of a potential tropical cyclone, which is located north of Venezuela and is expected to strengthen on its way to Central America until it becomes a hurricane on Sunday.

The Secretary of State in the National Risk and Contingency Management Offices of Honduras (Copeco) indicated in a statement that the green alert is extended by 24 hours before the rains that will leave the entry of the potential tropical cyclone.

Pepper, Potrerillos, San Manuel and Villanueva, municipalities bordering the banks of the Ulúa river, in the department of Cortés, are the municipalities that remain under yellow alert.
