Former President of Guatemala Manuel Baldizón, arrives extradited to face judicial process

Baldizón, who has two current arrest warrants in Guatemala for his possible involvement in the Odebrecht and Transurbano cases, arrived on a flight with more than 130 returned Guatemalans, from table, Arizona.

Guatemala – Seven days after it became known that former presidential candidate Manuel Antonio Baldizón Méndez, would return to Guatemala to make himself available to justice, today his arrival was made effective.

Baldizón, who has two current arrest warrants in Guatemala for his possible involvement in the Odebrecht and Transurbano cases, arrived on a flight with more than 130 returned Guatemalans, from table, Arizona.

For the Transurban case, is accused of the crimes of illicit electoral financing, Unregistered Election Financing and Money Laundering; and in the Odebrecht case for active bribery, money laundering and illicit association.

At 13:20 hours of this day, a flight arrived in the country with more than 130 returned Guatemalans, from table, Arizona. Among whom was Mr.. Manuel Baldizon, who has a valid arrest warrant in the country.

Upon arrival, the corresponding immigration control was carried out., remaining in the custody of the National Civil Police and the Public Ministry.
