The government of Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, has no interest in improving diplomatic relations with the United States government, This was stated by the Charge d'Affaires of the US Embassy in El Salvador Jean Manes, who this week leaves the country where he held this position for six months, to resume his role as Deputy Commander of the United States Southern Command.

The diplomat reproached the constant attacks against the United States, to his person, even against President Joe Baden, on behalf of the government and some officials through what he called the "Paid media machinery".

Manes, In statements to a local media outlet, he assured that three weeks ago they had the last meeting, but the Salvadoran government has shown no interest in improving relations with the United States, follow the democratic side of this country (The Savior), "It is definitely not the best moment of relations between the two governments", the American official reiterated.

"On behalf of the White House, from the State Department we offered a bridge, but the government decided not to take it, for our part we want the best relationship with El Salvador, but the person on the other side must have an interest, but it is not giving any sign ". Jean Manes stated.

He added that conversations are on pause at the moment., after his retirement this week to resume his position as Deputy Commander of the US Southern Command, will be in front of the embassy Brendan O’Brien, as Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy.
