The Government of El Salvador has decreed a Red Alert before the arrival of Hurricane Eta to its territory.
Eta is forecast to generate storm surge, with strong winds, floods and landslides, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) US.
At this time, they have mobilized throughout the Salvadoran territory 70 thousand members of the Civil Protection order.
Academic activities are suspended. Immediate reaction brigades have been activated in places of high vulnerability to environmental impact and on highways, bridges, rivers, and low areas, like the Bajo Lempa, suffering from floods. Artisanal fishing has been suspended and so have port activities.
