The United States Congress reduces financial support for military aid for El Salvador

Through a press release published by the Committee in Solidarity with El Salvador (CISP) for its acronym in English, the resolution of the United States Congress is released, where it is clearly stated that access to El Salvador for foreign military aid funds from the US budget is limited.

Restricted funds come from the bill (ómnibus Bill), this measure was approved last 21 from December, as of this date it takes effect for the fiscal year, which will end on 30 September 2021 in the american nation.

The approved plan equates to a total of $55,505 US $ 1 billion for state programs related to foreign operations plan, this includes a game of 9 billion under the concept of international assistance for security in which foreign military aid is incorporated, that will continue to financially support foreign policy approaches.

The Director of CISPES, Alexis Stoumbelis,  He said “although there is much to regret in this bill from Congress regarding the measures for the working class and poor communities of the United States in the face of the pandemic, We see fit that members of Congress restrict military funding to El Salvador, since the behavior of President Nayib Bukele in the last year, aimed at politicizing the security forces, is worrying ", this is how the leader explained it.

Congress made the decision to present a new restriction on military aid to El Salvador, as a result of concerns about the actions of the administration authorities, like militarization in the Legislative Assembly the past 9 February 2020, among other, this has been notorious among US decision-makers.
