Salvadoran deputies recommend dismissal of the Minister of Defense and the Director of the PNC

With 58 votes of 84 MPs, The Legislative Assembly of El Salvador approved the report of the Special Commission that investigated the events that occurred on 9 February 2020, when the President of the Republic intervened with military force in the parliament building, after convening a plenary session to approve a credit oriented to the security plan.

Parliamentarians recommend the removal of Defense Minister Francis Merino and the Director General of the National Civil Police, Mauricio Arriaza Chicas.
