Copa Airlines begins flights to the “Felipe Ángeles” International Airport in Mexico

The flight to the new AIFA will operate with three weekly frequencies, Monday, Thursdays and Saturdays with departures from the Tocumen International Airport where the "hub" of the Americas operates through which the Panamanian airline connects with the continent.

Panama – Copa Airlines inaugurated a new route between Panama City and the “Felipe Ángeles” International Airport (AIFA), located in the metropolitan area of ​​Mexico City as part of the strategy to directly and efficiently increase connectivity to and from the Mexican capital and the State of Mexico, said the company.

The flight to the new AIFA will operate with three weekly frequencies, Monday, Thursdays and Saturdays with departures from the Tocumen International Airport where the "hub" of the Americas operates through which the Panamanian airline connects with the continent.

“Through the inauguration of this new option to the city and State of Mexico, we seek to offer a variety of international connections safely and a World Class service…(Y) that we contribute to the development of tourism and economic activity”, affirmed the senior director of relations with governments of Copa Airlines, Maria Navarro.

The airline currently flies to Mexico City's Benito Juárez International Airport. (AICM), added to the new frequencies it will be able to consolidate its operations in Mexican territory.

 The Secretary of Tourism of Mexico, Miguel Torruco said that the new air route "contributes to strengthening the connectivity between Mexico and Panama, as well as other important issuing markets in Central and South America…”.

He added that the “Felipe Ángeles” International Airport is part of the Metropolitan Airport System together with the terminals of Mexico City and Toluca, which as a whole will be able to receive around 140 million passengers and 4 million tons of cargo at maximum capacity.
