Copa Airlines is recognized as the most punctual airline in Latin America

Panamanian Copa Airlines was recognized as the most punctual airline in Latin America for the seventh consecutive year, to the record a punctuality rate above the 92% during 2019, the highest among more than 500 evaluated airlines.

The recognition was awarded after a study of Cirium, company to 2019 published under the signature of FlightStats.

The airline, which is a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A., {NYSE: CPA} and member of the global network of airlines Star Alliance, was also distinguished by the Official Airline Guide (OAG) of London as the second most punctual airline in the world, consolidating at the top 5 globally for the fifth consecutive year.

The CEO, Pedro Heilbron said that these achievements constitute a recognition of the dedication and commitment of the team that works for the company to provide a first-world service, and ratify the airline's commitment to increase the index every year.

Heilbron assured that the good performance of the personnel of the Civil Aeronautics Authority and the Tocumen International Airport also contributes, that provide the necessary conditions to ensure one of the best levels of punctuality in the regional industry.

Cirium's ranking measures airline scores according to number of seats, flights and availability per kilometer, separating them into global and regional categories.

Based on those parameters, Copa Airlines, listed in Latin America, it also obtained the highest index in the whole of America and worldwide (92.16%) between the 500 airlines evaluated by said firm.

The CEO of Cirium, Jeremy Bowen, stated that Copa Airlines' consistency in punctuality performance makes it the winner for more consecutive years of Cirium's On-Time Performance Award.

Bowen recognized that the Panamanian company not only imposes new challenges to measure itself with other airlines, but for herself, since only between 2018 Y 2019 improved their performance by 3%.

The OAG analyzed more than 57.7 million flight records made by more than 250 airlines, between 1 January and 31 from December to 2019.

Copa Airlines currently operates an average of 350 daily flights through the Hub of the Americas®, the hub with the most international flights in the region, located at the Tocumen International Airport in Panama City, and from where it connects to 80 cities of 33 Northern countries, Sure, Central America and the Caribbean.
