The Savior respond.io founded in 2017 by Gerardo Salandra, a young Salvadoran entrepreneur passionate about business and Artificial Intelligence, in the company of Hassan Ahmed and Iaroslav Kudritskiy, respond.io created an omnichannel messaging inbox and found immediate success in countries like Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Thailand, Philippines and Malaysia.

Since then, respond.io has introduced advanced analysis tools, automation and marketing built from the ground up for messaging. Thanks to that, more of 10.000 Business, among which are heavyweights in the sector such as McDonald's, Radisson Hotels, Toyota, Subway, Honda, Yoho, Roche, ShareChat and Bigo, have taken advantage of the social and conversational commerce revolution.

“We have created an incredible infrastructure to serve these huge customers: we process more than 140 million messages per month”, afirma Hassan Ahmed, chief technology officer respond.io.

“These metrics are hardly made public, but from what i have checked, It is a leading figure in the sector.; for example, is at least 10 times more messages than our biggest European competitor, Trengo”.

respond.io, a SaaS platform (Software as a Service) social and conversational commerce company based in Malaysia, announces that it has closed a series A financing of 7 millions of dollars. The round was led by Headline Asia with the participation of AltaIR Capital, Smart Partnership Capital, Sterling Oak Group y Calendula Ventures.


respond.io has multiplied by 25 its revenue from the previous round and will use the funding to continue its push into big business, expanding its extensive set of integration capabilities, expanding from its headquarters in Asia to build a presence in Latin America, Middle East and Europe.
