Binx, the cat that was rescued alive from Miami's Champlain Towers

Were fulfilled 16 days of the collapse of Champlain Towers in Surfside, Miami, and although sadly there is no hope of rescuing more survivors of the tragedy, authorities found Binx in the rubble, a black cat who lived on the ninth floor with the Gonzales family.

The feline is in good health and was given to his family, The news was announced by Mayor Daniella Levine Cava who referred to the belief about the seven lives of cats: “I am glad that this little miracle brings some light to the life of a family that today suffers. This is a bright spot for our entire community. ", This was expressed by the president.

Before the collapse, the cat lived in the apartment 904 of the tower that collapsed in the early morning of 24 June and no one can explain how he was saved from the tragedy, although it was good news in the midst of the sadness that surrounds the loved ones and residents of the building.

Binx's rescue was thanks to a deployment of volunteers and animal control workers who are dedicated to searching for pets that may have escaped the tragedy., was the first successful find.

This week the Miami authorities decided to suspend search and rescue efforts, as they concentrated on recovering bodies, more than 60 people still missing in the rubble.

The building had significant damage, an investigation has already been started to deduce responsibilities, at least six lawsuits were filed against the owners of the tower and surrounding buildings,  decided to do reviews to identify possible failures that could culminate in a tragedy.
