Countries that are part of the Group of Lima condemned the "arbitrary detention" President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, of which he was subjected by the intelligence service of the South American nation.
The governments of Argentina, Brazil, Glen, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and St. Lucia expressed "its most forceful rejection of any action affecting the physical integrity of the members of the National Assembly of Venezuela, their families and collaborators ", before the "serious events" occurred, according to an official statement.
The group also showed their rejection "against any pressure or coercion to prevent the full and normal exercise of its powers as a constitutional body and legitimately elected in Venezuela".
Opposition leader Juan Guaidó confirmed by his Twitter account arrest, but he said that it had reached its destination after the incident.

Lima Group has shown its full support to the management of Guaidó in front of the Venezuelan Legislature. Guaidó is a strong opponent to the government of Nicolas Maduro.
